'Creation Contest'

For the first time ever, Oreo has opened its doors to its beloved Wonder Vault and has asked the world to take part in the adventure and discovery of a new Oreo flavor. We were once again asked to jump in and help open the doors of opportunity and explore the unique and expansive world of people’s own imaginations. Our team began immediately, tearing into designs and animations, gearing up for a social experience that asked the world “What is Your Oreo Creation?”
 
It was up to us and the wonderful team at 360i to bring this contest and its entire social media campaign to life. Our goal was to create intrigue early on, and with the help of Ellie Kemper and a crew of amazing people, we showed people that their imagination was a fun place to live. We went on to work with them to help bring the flavors of “The Taste of Space,” “Ooh La La,” or “Island Getaway” to life. It was up to us to dive deeper into what the visuals could be and how to best represent what we hoped would be a barrage of wonderful flavors—and trust us, it was a barrage. The world has exploded with ideas, flavors and genuine creativity. We are happy to be a part of the experience.

A Contest, A Social World & Beyond

When the contest was announced, as we had hoped, it was everywhere. Everyone jumping in with crazy, wacky, off the wall ideas. All the while we sat back and watched our toolkit be put in to action. Having created sets of icons, cookies and fun-filled worlds, we used these sets to modularly return serve to the bright and thoughtful creators. Our team dreamt of as many combinations of flavors, locations and creative ways to represent them in the shape of the iconic cookie. What started in design and animation for the initial spots quickly transformed into over 100 icons and 30 different environments.
 
We wanted responsiveness from the world, and frankly people deserved it. There needed to be a way to give the creators something back. A reward for the effort they put into the contest beyond the potential of winning. Which is exactly what we did. Go create something for yourself, you never know it might just be the winner.
